WEMSinternational Winners of MEN Business of The Year Awards 2011 - £10m-£25m turnover category

WEMS International has won the £10m-£25m turnover category of the MEN 'Business of the Year' awards 2011.

Winning votes for WEMSinternational were cast by a prestigious panel of judges including PWC, Pinsent Masons, The Co-operative Bank and Manchester Evening News.

Kevin Feddy, Business Editor of the MEN said, "WEMS is a shining example of how to innovate, achieve growth and expand into new markets despite the challenging economic conditions. Its success reflects the wealth of entrepreneurial talent which exists in its business".

Director of the energy management company, Ivan McKeever said he anticipated WEMS International's £12m turnover would double in the next 12 to 24 months, as would its 75-strong Stockport-based workforce.

The MEN 'Business of the Year' award is the latest in a string of accolades the company has attracted this year. Ivan extended his own vote of thanks on behalf of WEMS, to all of the company's customers, and its own workforce: "At WEMS energy management systems we are very proud of the contribution put into making this an outstanding business.  These awards recognise our achievements in innovation, our contribution to the global challenge of energy management, and growing our business despite the global financial crisis affecting many UK businesses.  Thank you for your contribution in helping us secure these prestigious awards".
