How many MX modules will a Controller support?

Each MX module has an individual power rating. Each Controller can support up-to a maximum of 20 modules per cluster.

What cable is required for RS485 communications?

We recommend Belden 9841 or equivalent standard.

Will your wireless system work in an industrial environment

Yes. We have many clients in all sectors from telecoms, transport, leisure, retail and large manufacturing.

Is there a specific order of modules within a cluster?

The only requirement is that a Controller must be used to provide power and manage the other modules. Apart from this you are free to combine any type of modules in any order up to a maximum of 20 modules.

Can you stack modules in a panel and link them together to a single Controller?

Yes. You can link modules on DIN rails using an interconnecting lead.

Will modules fit in a standard consumer unit?

Yes. They have a footprint similar to that of a single pole Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB), with each module being 25mm wide. We have a template document explaining widths if required.

How many clusters can a Site Manager support?

Up to 126 clusters of multiple I/O and up to 128 sensors.

Are the products UL approved?

The MX Modular range is UL approved, as is the Gateway 200. All products are CE approved.

Can I combine any frequency of wireless signal?

In North America there are regulations permitting only 915MHz whereas in Europe, Central & South America
and many other countries you can combine 434MHz and 868MHz freely.

Can I combine any frequency of wireless signal?

Yes, the range can be improved by using clusters as repeaters. For example, if a sensor was too far away
to communicate with a Gateway directly , it could communicate to a closer cluster. This cluster will then relay the data on to the Gateway via wired or wireless comms.
