Each cluster of I/O can use both wired and wireless communications modules concurrently to enable the creation of a hybrid network. This mixing of communications allows you to tailor your systems to each building’s plant and infrastructure and also allows you to effectively value-engineer your projects.
The WEMS MX range of I/O is made up using clusters of DIN rail mounted modules that plug together, like building blocks. Each module is dedicated to an I/O function i.e. digital inputs, thermistor inputs, analogue inputs, analogue outputs, relay outputs or communications. This modular approach allows the user to match the exact combination of points required at each location.
We researched, designed and manufactured our I/O to work wirelessly right from the start. Many manufacturers started with a wired system then attempted to ‘fudge’ a wireless product into it...not WEMS.
Starting with wireless at the forefront of our thinking and then adding in other elements afterwards has enabled us to develop a system that works not just wirelessly, but wired, or in a hybrid manner too.
Our R&D team have spent several years and millions of pounds perfecting our wireless solution, culminating in a range of products developed to work together, or with other BMS systems seamlessly.
Each MX cluster must have a Controller, which acts as a master, providing the management of each module connected to the cluster.
Each Controller also provides the power and communication for the entire cluster via an intelligent I2C bus.
Any cluster can have wired, wireless or a mix of both communication types. System integrators can combine multiple wireless frequency modules with RS-485 communication modules into a single cluster.
This flexibility allows the cluster to receive wirelessly and send out wired communications to the next cluster or vice versa.
All of our outputs require a Controller module for power and a relevant comms module for connectivity.
The outputs snap together to produce clusters that are ideal for implementing distributed I/O systems for your BACnet IP powered BMS.
